If you have children, you would need to find great schools for your children. You would want to live in an area where the best schools are located. Another issue is the safety of the location. Then there's the budget for buying or renting another house, of course. If you own your current home, you would have to take care of the sale as well. You would not want to be paying two bills for some time. So inform the utility companies about the move. Have old connections cut or transferred or changed to the name of the new occupants.
